Gospel Hip-Hop and Spoken Word Artist, Author, Speaker Léshea Jones aka ‘Sapphire-J’ was born in Nassau, Bahamas on the 26th of July 1988. She later relocated to the island of Grand Bahama in 1994 where she received her schooling from primary to tertiary education. Sapphire-J discovered her talent and passion for writing poetry and songs at the age of 13 which is also when she gave her life to Christ and committed to being a faithful servant in His vineyard. 

Her talent and passion for writing played a significant role in motivating her to publish her first book of poetry “Wait! I Have Something to Say” back in 2012. After some years she was led to release her first spoken word album “Pen & Tongue” which was released Fall of 2023 and is available on all music platforms today. Sapphire-J constantly steps out of the box and is finally following her passion in the Christian Hip- Hop industry as of 2025 releasing her first single from her upcoming EP called “Fireproof”.

Sapphire-J strives to ensure that each piece of work that she produces is different by adding a touch of her unique flair. One of her main goals is to allow her creativity to always be expressed through her various works while transferring that gift of creativity infused with the gift of healing to those she comes in contact with. Her drive and passion for the Arts caused her to branch out from being a Spoken Word Artist to a Raopper to a CEO of an Arts & Entertainment Company called “Pen & Tongue”. 

All in all, this Gem has surely been not only a voice, but also a source of inspiration and a breath of fresh air to a generation that is secretly crying to be heard. Her passion to mentor the next generation has surpassed her expectations because she solely believes that every young person has a purpose and all they need is one to properly guide and push them into the direction to discover their inner treasure. Therefore, it is Sapphire’s desire that her artistic expression can serve as a constant source of hope and encouragement for those that need it most.
